Encinitas, CA–Two people were arrested Monday for possession of multiple illegal firearms and narcotics at their apartment in Encinitas, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call around 11 a.m. of a man who reportedly found several deceased people in his apartment.  

Deputies arrived at the apartment and contacted 25-year-old Ryan Lander. They conducted a welfare check inside Lander’s apartment but did not locate anyone inside. However, they found multiple illegal firearms in plain view, Sheriff’s Department Lt. Christopher Lawrence.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Lander’s apartment and seized 28 firearms, 4 firearm suppressors, metal knuckles, body armor, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Several of the firearms were found to be in violation of state and federal firearms laws.

Landers was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for being under the influence of a narcotic while in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearms silencer.      

During the investigation, it was discovered the firearms were owned by Lander’s roommate, 32-year-old Luc Suter. 

On Thursday, Suter was arrested and booked in the Vista Detention Facility for possession of methamphetamines, narcotics addict in possession of a firearm, possession of illegal firearms, possession of a firearm suppressor, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
