Oceanside, CA–The Oceanside Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 15-year-old girl who did not return home after school on March 1.
Brendy C. Joaquin-Francisco was reported missing by her foster mother, who stated that the teen was not present for their scheduled pickup and had not returned home. Oceanside police immediately entered her name and details into the nationwide Missing Person System.
Brendy is described as a Hispanic female, 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with straight black long hair and brown eyes. She has a distinctive mole under her right eye and speaks only Spanish.
Despite initial contact with her social worker, during which she refused to disclose her whereabouts, Brendy has since been in touch with the social worker, expressing thoughts of self-harm. This development has prompted detectives to intensify their search efforts.
Authorities believe Brendy may be in Riverside and have alerted law enforcement agencies and businesses in Riverside County.
Anyone with information regarding Brendy’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Theriot at (760) 435-4378 or the Oceanside Police Department at (760) 435-4900.
