San Diego, CA–Youth Tennis San Diego will celebrate tennis heritage, legendary figures and the organization’s impact on local youth at its annual gala Sept. 19 at Barnes Tennis Center.

This year’s theme, “An Evening Celebrating Tennis Heritage and Legends,” will feature tennis legend Stan Smith as the honored guest. The event will include a cocktail reception, dinner, silent and live auctions, and a program highlighting Youth Tennis San Diego’s impact in the community.

Guests are encouraged to embrace a formal, retro 1970s-inspired dress code, with vintage-inspired suits, elegant jumpsuits, flowing maxi dresses, bold prints, rich textures, and retro patterns. Platform shoes and statement accessories are also encouraged.

“We are looking to have a lot of fun at this year’s YTSD annual gala. It’s going to be an unforgettable evening,” said Ryan Redondo, CEO of Barnes Tennis Center and Youth Tennis San Diego. “Everyone at the gala will have an opportunity to show their Disco-era glamour with a polished, upscale touch.”

The gala, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, supports Youth Tennis San Diego programs that serve more than 15,000 young people annually at more than 45 community sites throughout San Diego County. The organization also awards $500,000 in annual scholarships and provides more than 500 hours of tutoring and academic support each year.

The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at Barnes Tennis Center, 4490 West Point Loma Blvd. in San Diego.

Tickets are $250 per person, and sponsorship opportunities begin at $2,500. Contributions are tax-deductible. The organization’s tax identification number is 95-6095644.
