Changes announced for Rady Children’s Invitational Tournament field

By SDCN Editor

San Diego, CA–Sports San Diego officials have announced updates to the 2024 Rady Children’s Invitational tournament field.

While the Purdue Boilermakers (Big Ten) and BYU Cougars (Big 12) remain part of the event as previously announced, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Arkansas Razorbacks have been replaced by the NC State Wolfpack (ACC) and Ole Miss Rebels (SEC).

“Well, this is exciting!” exclaimed Mark Neville, CEO of Sports San Diego. “While we are disappointed that two teams have opted out of their contracts, we are thrilled to welcome the SEC’s Ole Miss and another team from last season’s Final Four, NC State!”

Last year, NC State and Purdue clashed in the Final Four in Glendale, Arizona, where Purdue advanced to the championship game with a 63-50 victory over the Wolfpack.

The second annual tournament will be held at LionTree Arena on the UC San Diego campus from November 28-29. Each day will feature two games, culminating in the championship and third-place games on November 29. Tip times will be announced at a later date.

All tournament games will be broadcast nationally on FOX or FS1.

Tickets are available at www.RadyChildrensInvitational.com, with prices for a two-day pass ranging from $80 to $140. Additionally, $5 from every ticket sold will be donated to Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.
