SAN DIEGO–In honor of the second annual Day of Giving, San Diego Humane Society’s adoption fees for all animals will be waived on Thursday at all campus locations.

This important day is dedicated to uniting the people who love and support animals, because this work is only possible with help from the entire community, according to the San Diego Humane Society.

“San Diego Humane Society will provide lifesaving care to 30,000 animals this year, and fundraisers like our Day of Giving are vital to ensuring all of the homeless, orphaned and injured animals in San Diego receive the care they need,” said Brian Daugherty, chief philanthropy officer for San Diego Humane Society. “As a nonprofit organization, support from the community is essential for us to continue this important work.”

All donations made before June 29 will be matched up to $50,000, thanks to generous support from Sharon Blanchet, Marcia Bordelon, Diane Gilabert and an anonymous donor. Donations to support animals right here in San Diego County can be made at www.sddayofgiving.org.

Donations will be accepted to help cover the costs that went into preparing these animals for adoption. All animals have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and given full vaccinations. Animals that are awaiting adoption can be found on the organization’s website: http://www.sdhumane.org/how-you-can-help/adopt/available-pets

San Diego Humane Society adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week, at campus locations in San Diego, Escondido and Oceanside.
