Escondido, CA–A female pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday by a pickup truck at an intersection in downtown Escondido, authorities said.
The Escondido Police Department received reports of the accident around 5:22 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Washington Avenue.
Officers located the pedestrian and immediately performed CPR on the victim. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
