VISTA–A woman found shot inside a Vista residence Saturday passed away from her injuries at a local hospital, San Diego Sheriff’s Department said.
Shortly before 6 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a call of a reported shooting that had occurred inside a residence, located at 470 block of Rancho Vista Road. Deputies found a woman inside the residence with severe injuries. Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital by ambulance. She was pronounced dead at 6:44 p.m. A man was detained by deputies at the scene.
There are no other outstanding suspects, according to investigators.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will notify the next of kin and perform an autopsy to determine the woman’s cause and manner of death.
