SPRING VALLEY–Homicide detectives arrested two teens in connection with a brawl Tuesday that left one man dead in Spring Valley, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

A 19-year-old San Diego man named Imara Khalil Jones was arrested and booked into San Diego Central Jail for one count of murder. A 17-year-old Spring Valley male juvenile was arrested and booked into the Kearny Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility for one count of assault with a deadly weapon.  

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Spring Valley man named Alejandro Hernandez Meza.  

On April 14, at about 10:30 p.m., San Diego Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 900 Grand Avenue in Spring Valley for a report of a fight. When they arrived, deputies located several adults who are suspected to be involved in the fight. Several people were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with various traumatic injuries sustained in the fight. One adult male was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The remainder of the injured people suffered non-life threatening injuries.
