OCEANSIDE–A woman sleeping on an Oceanside beach was fatally injured after she was run over by a Caterpillar Tractor Monday morning, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The incident occurred at 10 a.m. at the beach area off the 1200 North Pacific Street in downtown Oceanside, authorities said.
Oceanside police officers and paramedics were called to the scene of an industrial accident. When officers arrived, they were directed to an area on the beach where an unidentified deceased woman, possibly in her late 40’s to early 50’s was run over by the large tractor operated by Manson Dredge Company. The tractor operator was removing dredge pipe from the beach when the incident occurred. There was no indication of drugs or alcohol being a factor in the accident.
The woman was taken to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
