OCEANSIDE–A two-year-old child died on Saturday after he was pulled from a backyard swimming pool, the Oceanside Police Department reports.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Oceanside Police Department Communications Center received a 911 telephone call in regards to a drowning in the 1800 block of Moreno Street. The reporting party stated that a 2-year-old child fell into the backyard swimming pool and was now unconscious and not breathing. Family members pulled the child from the pool and began CPR until police and paramedics arrived on scene. The child was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Despite the life saving measures that were performed at the hospital, the child died as a result of drowning.
