CARLSBAD–Thunderstorms and lightning rolled into San Diego county Thursday afternoon prompting flash flood warnings throughout the region.

In the North County, first responders and emergency crews closed several flooded intersections in Carlsbad and Oceanside.

Drivers abandoned their vehicles after it stalled while driving through flood waters.

It was the second day of heavy rains in San Diego county, bringing in over two inches of rain in some areas.

The National Weather Service said showers will continue through the night.
