SPRING VALLEY–Homicide investigators arrested a Spring Valley man in connection with a fatal shooting during a physical altercation near a grocery store.
Sheriff’s detectives and members of the San Diego County Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 28-year-old Thomas Jackson without incident in San Diego. Jackson was transported and booked into the San Diego Central Jail on a single count of murder. He is being held without bail.
On January 4, at about 9 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call of a fight near the Albertson’s at 9831 Campo Road in Spring Valley. The 9-1-1 caller stated that multiple males were fighting at the location and a possible gunshot was heard. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male victim, identified as 25-year-old Aurice Turk.
Turk was treated and transported to a local hospital by the San Miguel Fire Department. He did not survive.
