El Cajon, CA–The El Cajon Police Department has apprehended twin brothers for allegedly masterminding a series of thefts targeting a retail store in East County.
According to El Cajon police, between January 23 and February 24, Ali Ahmed and Shuaib Ahmed, age 28, orchestrated five thefts at the Ulta Beauty store in El Cajon, making away with merchandise worth over $3,000. Additionally, they targeted JC Penney in El Cajon, stealing goods valued at $700.
Following an extensive investigation, officers arrested the brothers in connection with the theft spree. During Shuaib Ahmed’s arrest, officers found him in possession of drugs intended for distribution. Consequently, the brothers were booked into the San Diego County Jail, facing multiple felony charges, including grand theft and conspiracy. Shuaib Ahmed also faces charges of possession of drugs for sale.
Both Ali and Shuaib Ahmed have extensive arrest records related to theft-related crimes, with Shuaib Ahmed currently on probation for burglary.
El Cajon Police Chief Mike Moulton emphasized the department’s commitment to holding criminals accountable for their actions.
“The El Cajon Police Department will use every resource available to hold criminals who commit these types of thefts accountable. Criminal acts will not be tolerated and will have consequences for those who commit them,” Chief Moulton stated in the department’s news release.
The investigation is ongoing.
