Convicted felon arrested on drug, weapon charges in Spring Valley

By Gina Yarbrough

Spring Valley, CA–Sheriff’s deputies arrested a convicted felon on drug and weapon charges early Thursday morning in Spring Valley, authorities said.

Deputies contacted several people inside a vehicle around 1:30 a.m. that was illegally parked in the 1000 block of Grand Avenue.

During the contact, deputies determined the driver, identified as 33-year-old Dominique Lewis, was a convicted felon on parole. An investigation revealed Lewis was in possession of an illegal narcotic and was carrying a concealed, loaded firearm, the Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release.

Lewis was arrested on multiple charges related to narcotics and weapons violations and was booked into the San Diego Central Jail.

The remaining occupants of the vehicle were released at the scene with a warning for illegal parking, authorities said.
