12-year-old struck by vehicle in Poway

Poway, CA–A 12-year-old was hospitalized Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle near an intersection in Poway, authorities said.

Deputies from the Poway Sheriff’s Station responded to multiple reports of the collision just before 8:30 a.m. in the 14100 block of Twin Peaks and Espola Roads.

According to witnesses who remained at the scene, the child was seen running across a section of the roadway not designated for pedestrian crossing when the incident occurred.

Paramedics transported the juvenile to Rady Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
