Rollover accident leaves two in critical condition

Chula Vista, CA–Two people are in critical condition after their vehicle rolled over down an embankment in Chula Vista early Monday morning, authorities said. 

Chula Vista Police Department received multiple calls reporting a single-vehicle rollover accident near 1700 Wueste Road around 12:24 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene they discovered a passenger vehicle had veered off the road, rolling down an embankment. The driver and front passenger were ejected from the car, while a backseat passenger remained trapped until extricated by fire personnel.

First responders treated the occupants and transported them to a local trauma center. The driver sustained minor injuries;

The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau is investigating the incident. The cause of the collision is yet to be determined, though alcohol is suspected to be a factor. 

No arrests have been made, and the names of the involved individuals are being withheld for privacy.
