By SDCN Staff

Imperial Beach, CA–A man was found dead early Saturday morning following a disturbance in Imperial Beach, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation responded to the 600 block of Seventh Street around 1:25 a.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance. When they arrived, deputies discovered an adult male suffering from traumatic injuries.

Deputies performed CPR until paramedics arrived and continued lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the man’s identity, pending notification to his family.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit has launched an investigation, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. Investigators said the motive and circumstances surrounding the crime remain unclear, but noted that information so far suggests the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at (858) 285-6330, the Sheriff’s non-emergency line at (858) 565-5200 after hours, or to provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
