EAST COUNTY–The San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Court Services Bureau-Field Division conducted a warrant sweep in the East County that netted 36 arrests on June 15.

The arrests cleared 44 misdemeanor warrants and two felony warrants.

The areas affected by the sweep included the cities and unincorporated areas of Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Jamul, El Cajon, La Mesa and Rancho San Diego.

The focus of the operation was the apprehension of subjects with outstanding warrants regardless of the charge or bail amount.

The warrant sweep was funded by the Sheriff’s Warrant System Automation Trust Fund. The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise fail to comply with a court order.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department will continue its efforts in the apprehension of wanted subjects. Individuals who have outstanding warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at any one of the Sheriff’s Court Facilities.
