SAN DIEGO–The San Diego Police Department will hold their annual Memorial Ceremony on Thursday to honor those who gave their lives in the line of duty serving in the San Diego area.

The wreath laying and ceremony will commence at 11 a.m. and will take place at the department’s Memorial Monument located on the Broadway side of the headquarters.

Both on-duty and off-duty officer and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Dress uniforms with long sleeved shirts and a tie are preferred but not required.  All peace officers and the general public are invited to attend this event to pay respects to our fallen officers.

The ceremony is presented by the San Diego Police Officers Association in partnership with the San Diego Police Department.  Speakers at the ceremony will include Mayor Kevin Faulconer, San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, San Diego Police Officers Association President Brian Marvel, Rabbi David Kornberg, and Marc Bailey, local news anchor and reserve police officer.
