SAN DIEGO–The City of San Diego is extending its offer to help hundreds of north county homeowners who were impacted by the Lilac wildfire. From now through the end of the rainy season, people are invited to load up to 2 cubic yards of 4-inch mulch material or compost processed at the Miramar Greenery facility located at 5180 Convoy St.
Self-loading is free, however if assistance is needed to load a vehicle by City staff, there is a nominal fee that varies according to the amount of material loaded. Residents from Bonsall, Fallbrook, Vista, Oceanside, and/or unincorporated areas are welcome to pick up the free products until the rains have ended this year or while supplies last.
“In light of the terrible flooding in communities in northern California, the City would like to continue our support of our North County neighbors by extending our offer for free mulch and compost,” said Environmental Services Director, Mario X. Sierra. “We have abundant supplies of mulch and compost at our Greenery facility. These high quality products are great soil preservation supplements that promote new growth in fire ravaged areas.”
The Miramar Landfill and Greenery is located north of State Route 52 at 5180 Convoy St. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday and most holidays.
