San Marcos, CA–A pedestrian suffered a broken ankle after she was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in San Marcos, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple reports around 11:41 a.m. of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Firebird Lane and West Mission Road. Deputies arrived and found a 64-year-old woman who had been struck by a Cadillac SUV. She was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Cadillac SUV remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.  

Impairment by alcohol or drugs is not suspected as a factor in the collision, according to authorities. 

The San Marcos Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
