SAN MARCOS–One man is dead after getting into a physical altercation with his brother at their father’s home in San Marcos, Sheriff’s deputies said on Thursday.
Michael Young ,56, and Robb Young ,52, are brothers from Minnesota who were staying with their father.
On February 19 at about 6:30 a.m., Michael and Robb got into an argument about Robb waking up early and being noisy. The argument escalated into a fist fight in the front yard of the residence. The two eventually stopped fighting and Michael left Robb on the ground in the front yard. Michael went inside the house and went back outside to check on Robb about 40 minutes later. He found Robb was not breathing and started CPR.
Michael flagged down a neighbor who was driving by and asked her to call 911. The neighbor’s husband assisted Michael with the CPR until paramedics arrived and took over. Robb was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead. An autopsy was conducted and found the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head and the manner to be homicide.
Michael Young was arrested for voluntary manslaughter on February 20. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
