OCEANSIDE–In accordance with guidance from the County of San Diego and State of California, the Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division is responding to circumstances related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

As of Thursday, March 12, Oceanside Parks and Recreation has suspended all programs and operational hours at all Community and Senior Centers through the end of March. This includes all programs, facility rentals, athletic events, and services. Alternate arrangements will be made for essential services such as the Senior Nutrition Program. Public Lap swim hours will remain in effect as scheduled.

Governor Gavin Newsom has mandated upon state public health experts’ input that gatherings should be postponed or canceled across California until the end of March. Non-essential gatherings must be limited to no more than 250 people, while smaller events can proceed only if the organizers can implement social distancing of 6 feet per person. Given this direction, the Parks and Recreation Division is not able to continue its programs for the present.
