OCEANSIDE–A 34-year-old Oceanside man was arrested by police Friday for the alleged murder of his grandmother, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The suspect, Andre Hansen was taken into custody at the residence, located in the 300 block of Edgehill Lane. The grandmother’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
At about 11:45 p.m., Oceanside police responded to a disturbance call at the home. The reporting party indicated an adult male was yelling and making threats against his grandmother. When officers arrived, they contacted Hansen. He was detained while officers went to check the welfare of his 78-year-old grandmother. During a safety sweep of the residence officers found the grandmother who had sustained some upper body trauma and was pronounced dead by Oceanside paramedics.
The Oceanside Police Departments Crimes of Violence Unit is investigating the case.
