Oceanside, CA–Firefighters contained a vehicle fire that erupted inside a garage Thursday afternoon, preventing the flames from spreading to the rest of the Oceanside home or nearby structures, authorities said.
Crews from Oceanside and Vista Fire Departments responded to a call of a garage fire just before 2:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Albatross Way. They quickly extinguished the flames, preventing further damage to the property. One person was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation injuries.
According to the Oceanside Fire Department, the blaze was sparked by an individual who had been working on a car engine.
Fire officials remind residents to keep a fire extinguisher nearby when performing vehicle maintenance to help prevent similar incidents from occurring.
