Oceanside, CA–Firefighters rescued three people after their vehicle left the roadway and became stuck on a steep hillside near a residential neighborhood Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Crews with the Oceanside Fire Department responded shortly before 2 p.m. to the 3900 block of Vista Campana North for a reported vehicle rescue. According to fire officials, the vehicle came to rest in a precarious position on the hillside, prompting a technical rescue operation.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and the three occupants were safely extricated and lowered to the base of the hillside, where paramedics evaluated and treated them before transporting them to local hospitals. All were reported to be in stable condition.
Officials reminded the public to avoid active emergency scenes, noting that crowds, parked vehicles and bystanders can create hazards and delay response efforts.
