Motorcyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run collision

San Marcos, CA–A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision in San Marcos on Saturday, authorities said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle collision, shortly before 10:30 a.m., at the intersection of South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Lake San Marcos Drive.

Upon arrival, deputies and San Marcos Fire Department personnel discovered a motorcyclist lying injured in the roadway. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle that may have been involved in the incident. The vehicle is described as a white, newer-model sedan and may have damage on the driver’s side.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that could aid the investigation is urged to contact the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station at (760) 510-5200.
