San Diego, CA–As part of ongoing maintenance efforts at the Imperial Beach Pier, water service to the pier will be temporarily shut off on Monday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. while crews install a new water line.
During this period, public restrooms on the pier and The Tin Fish restaurant located at the end of the pier will be closed. However, the pier itself and the public restroom situated in the pier plaza will remain open to the public.
The maintenance project, which began in November 2024, included the replacement of two pilings to ensure the structural integrity of the iconic pier, allowing it to remain a cherished destination for visitors and the community for years to come.
Future maintenance will involve deck board replacement work, which may require partial or occasional full closures of the pier. More details about these closures will be shared as they become available. The entire project is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
