77-year-old man succumbs to injuries after being struck by vehicle

Oceanside, CA–A 77-year-old man who suffered severe injuries in a two-vehicle collision on October 30 has passed away, the Oceanside Police Department reported.

The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. at the College Boulevard and Mesa Drive intersection, leaving both vehicles disabled in the northbound lanes. Shortly after, at approximately 5:37 a.m., while one of the drivers attempted to retrieve belongings from the trunk of his vehicle, another northbound car struck the disabled vehicle from behind. The second collision caused the man to suffer a broken left leg.

Despite medical efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries on November 7 at 12:45 p.m.

The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
