VISTA–San Diego Sheriff’s Department investigators Saturday are searching for a 30-year-old man who tried to abduct a 13-year-old female in front of the Water Shack ice cream shop in Vista
The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. at the ice cream shop located at 807 North Santa Fe Avenue.
After repeatedly attempting to coax the victim to come with him, the suspect reached out and grabbed the teen’s sweater. She was able to escape and run inside the business, where her older brother was waiting. The suspect fled on a “razor” type scooter and was last seen traveling westbound on West Connecticut Avenue. Patrol deputies searched the area with assistance from the Sheriff’s ASTREA Helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The victim described the suspect as a white male adult, six feet tall, 160 pounds, with a light complexion, a thin build, approximately thirty years old, wearing a dark colored beanie, a dark colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored pants.
