Based on a tip provided by an individual through the Crime Stoppers hotline, deputies responded to the 3500 block of Windrift Way in Oceanside. While checking the area, deputies located a 2016 white Toyota Corolla with consistent damage.
Deputies contacted the owner of the vehicle who provided a statement. It was determined that person was the driver of the Toyota Corolla at the time of the collision.
The driver was arrested for felony hit-and-run and booked into the Vista Detention Facility. His identity has not been released.
Tuesday’s incident happened at 4:48 p.m. along the 1000 block of Mar Vista Drive. Deputies learned the victim had been struck by one vehicle which fled the scene.
He was transported by air ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital for injuries to his right leg and abrasions to his face.
