SANTEE–A man was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, Sheriff’s deputies said Friday.
On April 1, at approximately 4:32 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the area of 10331 Lairwood Dr in Santee. The vehicle had been profiled on a Facebook site as a suspicious vehicle with a description of the males that appeared to be checking vehicles and homes to burglarize.
The vehicle, a white Chrysler minivan was observed as it parked, and at least one occupant exited the vehicle. Deputies set up in the area around the neighborhood. As an unmarked vehicle approached, a possible suspect fled on foot. That suspect, later identified as 23 year-old Jonathan Pasco, was located and detained in a backyard nearby. Another male was also briefly detained, but was soon released.
Pasco was identified as being related to the suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was identified as a stolen vehicle from Rancho San Diego. Additionally, the vehicle had stolen plates from a different investigation in Santee.
Jonathan Pasco had been charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
