Fallbrook, CA–Fire crews contained a 30-acre vegetation fire that broke out Sunday afternoon near the De Luz area in Fallbrook, fire officials said. 

The blaze, known as the Sandia fire, was reported at 1:34 p.m. in the 39000 block of Sandia Creek Drive, the North County Fire Protection District stated on Twitter.

The fire had a moderate rate of spread along the hillside with no structures threatened at this time.

Aircraft units dropped retardant at the head of the fire, while ground crews worked to contain the blaze near the hillside.

There were no reports of injuries to fire crews or residents.

The blaze is under investigation.
