CARLSBAD–A female body was found floating in the Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad Wednesday morning, Carlsbad police said today.
A paddle boarder reported seeing a body floating in the lagoon, located in the 4600 block of Park Drive between Bruce Road and Cove Drive, according to Carlsbad police.
Officers arrived at the lagoon and requested the assistance of the Sheriff’s Department helicopter, ASTREA and Carlsbad Fire Department to help with the search.
At 9:41 a.m., the search team found a deceased female adult in the lagoon.
The cause of death is undetermined.
The body will be released to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification, notifications and to determine cause of death.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
