Feeding San Diego urges the community to help support its #GivingTuesdayNow campaign in response to the urgent need for food assistance by children, families, seniors and underserved populations across San Diego County. All gifts will support the Feeding San Diego COVID-19 Response Fund. Donations can be made by visiting: give.feedingsandiego.org/givingtuesdaynow2020.

In addition to raising funds, Feeding San Diego is hosting an Instagram live event, #GivingTuesdayNow Progressive Dinner Party, on Tuesday, May 5, from 6:00 to 6:30 PM, led by Food Network host and Feeding San Diego Entertainment Council Member Troy Johnson. Chef JoJo Ruiz of Lionfish and Serẽa, Bravo Top Chef Angelo Sosa of Small Barn Temecula, and Bravo Top Chef and Restauranteur Brian Malarkey will each cook and share an amazing Cinco de Mayo inspired dish in honor of Feeding San Diego.

Feeding San Diego continues to respond to the meet the needs of people facing hunger in San Diego County. Since March 14, the hunger-relief organization distributed more than 3.5 million meals. As the need for food assistance and food purchasing costs continue to increase dramatically, Feeding San Diego seeks support from the community to sustain its emergency response efforts, including drive-through distributions, emergency regional food distributions, rural mobile pantries, and youth meal sites.

“This is a community that looks after each other, even while we distance ourselves in the name of health and safety,” said Vince Hall, CEO of Feeding San Diego. “GivingTuesdayNow is an opportunity for San Diego to come together and help those that need it most right now.”
