VISTA–A sheriff’s deputy and two other people were injured Sunday in a vehicle collision in Vista, the Sheriff’s department said Monday.
Deputies were dispatched to investigate a stabbing in the area of Laguna Lane and Arcadia Avenue in Vista.
Shortly after 3 p.m., a deputy en route to the call was traveling northbound on East Vista Way with his marked patrol SUV’s emergency lights and siren activated. The deputy traveled through the intersection of East Vista Way and East Bobier Drive as a 2017 Lexus NX200T entered the intersection from westbound East Bobier Drive. The vehicles collided within the intersection.
The deputy was transported to Palomar Medical Center to be evaluated. The Lexus’ 53-year-old male driver and 51-year-old female passenger were also transported to Palomar Medical Center with complaints of pain.
Alcohol or drug intoxication are not believed to be factors in the collision. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the Vista Traffic Division.
