San Diego, CA–The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality has issued beach advisories and closures this week for San Diego County beaches.
County environmental health officials lifted the closure of Lifeguard Tower and North Beach in Coronado. Recent water quality samples meet state health standards.
An advisory was issued for Glorietta Bay and San Elijo Lagoon Outlet due to high bacteria levels that have exceeded state health standards and may cause illness. Beachgoers are advised that bacteria levels have exceeded state health standards and may cause illness.
Tidelands Park, Spanish Landing, San Diego River Outlet, Dog Beach, North Cove Vacation Isle, Tecolote Shores, Fiesta Island NW Shore, Comfort Station at Leisure Lagoon, Campland in Mission Bay, La Jolla Cove, San Luis River Outlet, and Children’s Pool remain under advisory.
The ocean shoreline from the International Border to Avenida Lunar in Coronado will remain closed until sampling confirms these areas are safe for water contact. The public is advised to avoid water contact due to sewage contamination which may cause illness.
