SAN DIEGO–The California Highway Patrol is searching for the suspect in connection with a freeway shooting that injured another man Saturday in San Diego.
The victim was driving his vehicle at around 8:30 p.m. on Interstate 8, eastbound, near Waring Road. An unknown vehicle, using an unknown firearm, began firing rounds at the victim. Once on State Route 125 northbound, the suspect began to fire multiple rounds at the victim, striking him once in the arm. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle and has not been located. The victim was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries. The victim was allegedly under the combined influence of drugs and alcohol and was placed under arrest.
The investigation is ongoing.
