San Diego, CA–The U.S. Coast Guard interdicted 11 people approximately 26 miles west of Point Loma on Saturday during a routine Southwest border patrol operation.
According to officials, the Coast Guard Cutter Haddock (WPB 87347) encountered a 20-foot cuddy-cabin vessel at about 2 p.m. Crew members boarded the boat and detained 11 individuals, six men and five women, who all reported being nationals of Mexico.
The Cutter Haddock crew transported the group to Coast Guard Sector San Diego, where they were transferred to another Department of Homeland Security agency for processing.
