CARLSBAD–The Carlsbad Police Department announced Monday the arrest of a 17-year-old male Carlsbad resident for the November 23 murder of hiker Lisa Thorborg on the Hosp Grove Trail.
Investigators will not release the identity of the juvenile suspect and details about the case due to CA state law protecting minors.
Since the November 23 murder, investigators have worked around the clock to find a suspect and seek justice for Lisa Thorborg and her family.
“We understand that the community has been on edge since that tragic day in November when Lisa was found on Hosp Grove Trail,” stated Investigations Lieutenant Jason Jackowski. “Our unwavering mission has been to find the suspect for Lisa, her family and the community of Carlsbad.”
Jackowski went on to say that investigators worked in all directions and followed any potential lead that led to an arrest.
Carlsbad police will continue their investigation. There are no additional suspects in the case, according to authorities.
Investigators are working with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office regarding prosecution.
