San Diego, CA–A boil water alert has been issued for Lake Morena County Park water system due to an emergency repair to the storage tank, County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health and Quality reports.

Public health officials issued the alert as a precautionary measure for the park’s water system,  located at 2550 Lake Morena Drive in Campo, 

The water system has 86 connections that serve 16 partial hook-up RV sites, 38 full hook-up RV sites, 9 tent camping areas, 3 ranger residences, 7 volunteer RV sites, 3 restroom buildings, 3 cabins, a boat repair shop, a fish cleaning house, park office, 2 young group campsites, and 2-day use areas. The water system serves a maximum transient population of approximately 300 visitors per day.

The boil water alert will remain in effect until the storage tank is restored to proper function and laboratory results confirm the absence of bacteria in the water supply.
