SANTEE–Investigators continue their search for a male driver suspected of following a 9-year-old boy in East County last week.

The incident was reported to the Santee Sheriff’s Station on October 15,  but the incident occured on October 14 shortly before 5 p.m. in Santee.

The boy told deputies he was walking alone on Trailridge Avenue when the driver asked him to get into the van and go to a community pool with him. The boy refused and walked away. The driver left the scene.

The boy described the driver as a white man between 18 and 20-years-old with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a light-colored t-shirt. A woman might have been in the passenger seat, but there is currently no description at this time, according to investigators.

Surveillance video in the area at the time of the incident captured a black four-door minivan, possibly a Dodge caravan with tinted windows and black rims.
