SOUTH COUNTY–San Diego Sheriff’s Department Court Services Bureau-Field Division and the National City Police Department on June 2 conducted a warrant sweep in the South County region.
The areas affected by the sweep included the cities and unincorporated areas of Imperial Beach, National City, Bonita, and Lincoln Acres. The focus of the operation was on the apprehension of subjects with outstanding warrants regardless of the charge or bail amount.
A total of 9 adults were arrested on misdemeanor warrants clearing a total of 10 misdemeanor warrants. One person received a new felony charge for possession of a controlled substance while on jail grounds.
The warrant sweep was funded by the Sheriff’s Warrant System Automation Trust Fund. The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise fail to comply with a court order.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department will continue its efforts in the apprehension of wanted individuals.
Persons who have outstanding warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at any one of the Sheriff’s Court Facilities.
