Arrests made in the shooting death of Darron Willie Singleton Jr.

San Diego, CA–The San Diego Sheriff’s Office announced additional arrests in the shooting of Darron Willie Singleton Jr. that occurred late last year in Lemon Grove. 

Three individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with the homicide.

On January 7, Richard Charles Lee, 47 of San Diego, was apprehended in the 3100 block of MaCaulay Street in San Diego. Additionally, 44-year-old Reality Grayson of Temecula was arrested in the 3900 block of Knollridge Drive in Temecula. Both suspects have been booked into custody at the San Diego Central Jail on charges related to the murder of Darron Willie Singleton Jr.

On Thursday, 45-year-old Valena Marie Gonzales of San Diego was apprehended by the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force near Valley Road and Rio Drive in San Diego. She has been booked into custody at Las Colinas Detention Facility on charges of aiding and abetting in the murder of Darron Willie Singleton Jr.

On September 18, at approximately 10:55 p.m., deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Dain Court in Lemon Grove. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 23-year-old Singleton Jr., a resident of Lemon Grove, lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Deputies initiated lifesaving measures and were soon assisted by San Miguel Fire Department personnel. Singleton Jr. died of his injuries on the scene.

The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on September 20. Preliminary results confirmed that Singleton Jr.’s death was due to multiple gunshot wounds, ruling the case as a homicide.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the San Diego Police Department, the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, and the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force in executing the arrests.
