SAN DIEGO–The FBI arrested a 37 year-old former Brinks Incorporated manager January 9 in San Diego on charges of allegedly stealing approximately $3.2 million on January 1 at a Brinks facility in Miami, Florida.
Following his arrest, Jose Agurto of Miami was booked into the Metropolitan Correctional Center where he will remain pending his initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in San Diego on January 11.
Agents did locate the money during the arrest, according to FBI. The amount found is not being released at this time.
The theft is being investigated by the Doral Police Department, the Miami Dade Police Department, and the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Florida.
