SAN DIEGO–Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jewish Family Service of San Diego has operated a free, no-touch drive-thru food distribution on its Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus in Kearny Mesa every weekday to assist San Diegans in critical need of groceries and nutrition assistance.

In conjunction with the City of Poway, Jewish Family Service has launched a second location dedicated to supporting seniors ages 60 and older. The free, contactless distribution is now open every Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. at the Poway Senior Center (16315 Pomerado Rd.).

Distribution bags come stocked with one week’s supply of food – either groceries (including dried/canned goods and other pantry staples) or prepared meals made fresh daily in JFS’s onsite Loonin Family Kitchen. Organic produce will also be supplied from local farms in partnership with Daily Harvest Express.

For more information or to reserve a spot, call (858) 637-3257. Reservations must be made prior to the day of the distribution.
