San Diego, CA–Sports San Diego will host its 6th annual blood drive at Grossmont Center on November 21.
The event is presented by Kaiser Permanente in partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank. The nonprofit, also known as the Southern California Blood Bank, supplies blood to hospitals around San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange Counties.
As the primary blood provider for Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and a safety net for many hospitals in the region, the San Diego Blood Bank facilitates over 150,000 blood transfusions each year, serving patients of all ages and backgrounds throughout the state.
This year, all donors will receive a complimentary shirt while supplies last. Last year’s event collected 326 pints of blood, helping to meet the region’s critical healthcare needs.
The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Grossmont Center, located at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa. Those interested in donating can register online at sportssandiego.org.
