OCEANSIDE–The City of Oceanside will host its World of Water celebration on March 23 at the San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility.

The free event celebrates World Water Day by traveling through many water-themed activities to learn the ways the City of Oceanside works to provide its customers the world’s most precious resource – water!

The event offers fun and educational activities for people of all ages. Guests can learn about a new source of water coming to the City, called Pure Water Oceanside, and tour the San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility. Activities include planting a drought-tolerant succulent to take home, participating in a hands-on water experiment, creating an arts and crafts project, and learning about water and water reuse and more.

Pure Water Oceanside will purify recycled water to create a new, local source of high-quality drinking water for Oceanside that is clean, safe, drought-proof and environmentally sound. Pure Water Oceanside will produce enough water to provide more than 30 percent of the city’s water supply.

The event will run 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility, 3950 North River Road in Oceanside.
