SAN DIEGO–The SANDAG iCommute team will host a free Clean Air Day webinar on how commuters can pledge to participate in this year’s California Clean Air Day.

Employers and commuters throughout the San Diego region are invited to take the pledge and encourage others to leave their cars at home and telework, bike, walk, take transit, carpool, or vanpool on Thursday, for California Clean Air Day.

Thursday’s webinar, “How to Reduce Your Commute Impact on Clean Air Day and Beyond,” will share how to pledge and participate in Clean Air Day; how commuters can reduce their commute impact on the local environment; how transit is going green with Zero Emission Bus pilot programs; and how vehicle traffic affects local air quality.

Panelists include speakers from the Coalition for Clean Air, Metropolitan Transit System, North County Transit District, and San Diego County Air Pollution Control District.

On Clean Air Day, commuters can post their pledge story or photo on the designated @iCommuteSD Facebook web page for a chance to win a $500 gift card to Cal Coast Bicycles.

Employers that take the Clean Air Day pledge receive a unique link to share with employees to encourage them to pledge. Employers can compete against other San Diego region businesses to be recognized on an iCommute leaderboard and in a print ad.

To register for the 11 a.m. webinar, learn more about Clean Air Day, and pledge to participate, visit iCommuteSD.com/CleanAirDay. A recording will also be posted at iCommuteSD.com/CleanAirDay.
