Ramona, CA–The 5th annual Ramona Earth Day Festival returns on April 25 with sustainability experts, interactive exhibits, inspiring speakers, and fun activities for the whole family.
The environmental-themed event will bring together 40 exhibitors focused on a wide range of sustainability topics, organizers announced.
Attendees can explore displays and demonstrations on issues including water conservation, wildlife preservation, native plants, vermicomposting, natural resource management, light pollution, and recycling, as well as innovative approaches to reusing materials. In addition to educational exhibits, the event will feature art displays and vendor booths.
The Ramona–Barona Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan will be updated, and the County of San Diego will have various exhibitors on wellness, parks and recreation, and the county Climate Action Plan.
New this year is a special table for local organizations to make “Community Connections” by displaying their literature.
Invited speakers on sustainability are Bob Hill, EDCO, Director of Recycling and Marketing and Dr. Mandy Morrell, Professor of Sustainability, who will provide information on the aspects of plastic in the environment.
The event will feature live entertainment by The Ramona del Sol Folklorico dancers, The Garden Variety Band, Haywire Band, Wyatt Willard Trio, The Beard and the Bird, Sam Powell, and Rose Evans’ Tai Chi group from the Ramona library.
Food for purchase will be available from Liz’s Cazuela Dorada food truck. And Ramona Disposal will once again bring their mini-garbage truck that makes for fun photo opportunities for the kids.
The festival will be held on April 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Begent Ranch, 18528 Highland Valley Road in Ramona. A donation of $10 is asked for adult admission; children are free. Attendees are advised that the location can be difficult walking in some areas as this is a working ranch. Visitors should walk carefully.
Sustainable Ramona, a nonprofit organization based in Ramona, aims to promote environmental and economic sustainability throughout the community. The group’s mission is to guide Ramona’s transition toward a climate-resilient future by advancing education, building partnerships, and supporting local projects and outreach efforts.
